According to the latest unemployment data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Oklahoma City MSA had an unemployment rate of just 2.9% for July. This represents the 2nd lowest unemployment rate in the country for metros with more than 1 million in population. Salt Lake City edged out Oklahoma City for the top spot with a rate of 2.8%.
This also represents a solid decrease from June’s rate of 3.7%. The news was also good statewide as all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties saw a lower rate than this time last year. Overall, Oklahoma had a rate of 3.5% The national rate was 5.4%.
